The deadline for Exemplary Service Awards is August 6th.
Exemplary Employee Award Each Fall, 10 employees (current administrative and regular staff employees only - faculty are excluded) will be chosen to receive exemplary employee awards. Immediate supervisors or fellow employees may nominate individuals to receive the awards by completing and submitting the nomination form (http://hr.byuh.edu/training/pages/exceptionaward.php) to HR. (Please note that previous recipients are not eligible. To see a list of previous recipients of this award click here . The President's Council will meet to consider the nominations and make a final determination of those who will be honored at the University Ohana meeting on August 20th, 2008.
The following criteria should be kept in mind as exemplary employee nominations are made:
1. Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude. a. Takes tremendous interest and pride in their own specific assignments and BYU Hawaii as a whole. b. Is cooperative, courteous, friendly and demonstrates a concern and helpfulness to all employees. c. Always presents a neat personal appearance and exhibits professionalism in conduct and communication. 2. Is conscientious and exemplary in performance of job duties. a. Demonstrates a higher degree of skill and proficiency in carrying out assigned tasks. b. Strives to improve skills and work methods as a means toward greater productivity and efficiency. c. Is more than a willing worker, demonstrates initiative and does not require constant supervision. 3. Goes the "Extra Mile." a. Has performed specific and unusual activities worthy of recognition at BYU Hawaii. b. Volunteers time and expertise to other persons and organizations in the University community. 4. Has been working for BYU Hawaii for a minimum of 5 years.
