Qualifications:
-Masters in Human Resources, Business Administration or other related field
-Minimum of eight years of human resource experience, at least five of which are in compensation
-Five years management experience
-CCP and PHR/SPHR certification preferred
-People Soft experience required
-Understanding of KRONOS time System
-Advanced MS Office Skills, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
-Working knowledge of body of human resource law
-Expert in the application of FLSA, Equal Pay and IRS regulations (independent contractors) and relevant case law
-Thorough understanding of University policies pertaining to human resources in general and compensation in particular
-Ability to work well with high-level personnel
-Familiarity with compensation best practices
-Top level skills in problem-solving
-Superior oral and written communications skills

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Input:
-Provide consultative input to Assistant Administrative Vice President
-Design/implement/administer compensation programs
-Develop long and short range goals for department
-Develop/revise/administer compensation policy
2. Public Relations:
- Represent Compensation in Human Resource Committee, as invited
-Approve/deny exceptions to compensation policy
-Negotiate and communicate unwelcome decisions to colleges/divisions/departments
3. Operations Oversight:
-Job classification and evaluations
-Market data analysis and application
-Special projects
-Salary setting
-Annual salary review
-Salary budget reconciliation
-Position management and control
-Supplemental compensation
-Independent contractors
-Hiring/termination/leave processes
-Retirement calculations
-Employment verifications
-Personnel records
